REGA ENERGY at the 12th Energy Forum: Advancing Biomethane Production in Portugal
The 12th Energy Forum, supported by REGA Energy, took place on November 26-27 at the LNEC – Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil in Lisbon. This event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to address key topics shaping the future of the energy sector and driving the energy transition.
At the event, Nuno Delgado Pinto, Head of Biomethane at REGA Energy, participated in the panel discussion “Biomethane: From Plan to Action.” With an Action Plan published in March and initiatives such as the auction for renewable gases and the launch of guarantees of origin, the discussion focused on the next steps needed to accelerate the production, distribution, and consumption of biomethane in Portugal. During the session, Nuno Delgado Pinto addressed the key actions needed to drive the production of biomethane in Portugal, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities in this strategic sector.
The biomethane panel brought together a group of experts, including: Francisco Gírio, Principal Researcher at the National Laboratory for Energy and Geology (LNEG); Sofia Pinheiro, Biogas Product Manager at PRF-Gas Solutions; Miguel Faria, Chief Operating Officer at Floene; Inês Baeta Neves, Director of Innovation and Development at EGF. The session was moderated by Joaquim Marques, Project & Trading Manager at Dourogás Renovável.
During the event, the Head of Biomethane at REGA Energy gave an interview to Portal Ambiente Online, where he highlighted the benefits of accelerating biomethane production in Portugal and analyzed the main obstacles that must be overcome.
